Position: Cytotechnologist Job Description: Maintains daily record of slides screened/hours worked at laboratory and slides screened/hours worked at any other outside employer per procedure manual. Maintains open communication with department supervisor, pathologist, and co-workers to ensure optimal operation of the department. Provides technical consultation for Cyto-processing technicians, assists in prep work when directed by Supervisor. Maintains high level of proficiency and current knowledge through continuing education. Complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. Supports corporate policies and objectives, complies with quality assurance, safety, and environmental and infection control protocols. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor Qualifications: At least 2 years of recent Cyto Tech experience required Cerner or EPIC experience preferred High School Diploma/GED At least one (1) of the following is: Required Bachelor of Science degree in cytotechnology, plus graduation from a school of cytotechnology accredited school. Bachelor of Science degree in a biological science, plus graduation from a school of cytotechnology accredited school. American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Certification Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff members.
