The Dental Hygienist is responsible for performing assigned duties within his or her scope of practice under the supervision of the dentist. Responsibilities and duties for the Dental Hygienist include, but are not limited to, completing intake paperwork, updating patient records, sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, as well as taking x-rays and performing all oral hygiene services. The Dental Hygienist effectively interacts with coworkers, dentists, patients, and the community. What You'll Do: Assist in extensive treatment planning for periodontal care. Exposes and processes radiographs. Provides patients with education on preventative dentistry and preventative periodontal care. Provide nutritional counseling relating to cessation and prevention of dental disease. Provide therapeutic scaling and root planning procedures as needed. Provide prophylaxis fluoride treatments. Who You Are: Excellent communicator Detail oriented Good interpersonal skills Compassionate Qualifications: State of California Dental Hygienist license required. American Heart Association or client BLS certification required.
