Football Analyst - Offense

Position Summary:

Responsible for working with the Offensive Coordinator and offensive coaches to create game plans, scouting reports, and other applicable statistical data to be used for preparing the players for the next opponent. This position breaks down opponent film and self-scouts to identify team tendencies.

Responsibilities of all Positions at Kansas Athletics:

Adhere to University, Big 12 Conference, Kansas Athletics and NCAA policies and procedures; Maintain knowledge of departmental activities, sports schedules and procedure; Foster cooperative working relationships with immediate supervisor and staff members who work within or outside his/her work unit; Support the athletics departmental goals and philosophies as described by the Director of Athletics, and work to achieve and uphold the department’s mission statement and core values; Maintain a positive attitude toward performing job duties and working with other staff members; Exhibit professional decorum at all times while representing Kansas Athletics, including routine events and meetings that occur outside of the office and on the road; Maintain the confidentiality of all information obtained while an employee of Kansas Athletics including all private, confidential, or sensitive information and ensuring compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations. Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

Assist with building game plans and advanced scouting of future opponents for use by Offensive Coordinator and other offensive coaching staff; Creating detailed scouting reports on opponents for each game for use by Offensive Coordinator and other offensive coaching staff and student-athletes in weekly game preparation; Creating and analyzing self-scouting reports on Kansas Football following each game for use by Offensive Coordinator and other offensive coaching staff and student-athletes in weekly game preparation; Reviewing and analyzing opponents’ game personnel and creating data-based reports for use by Offensive Coordinator and other offensive coaching staff and student-athletes in game preparation; Assist Director of Player Personnel and football recruiting staff, as permitted by NCAA rules and policies governing non-coaching staff members; Meeting regularly with Offensive Coordinator and other offensive coaching staff to review and analyze profiles, evaluation forms and other information pertaining to prospective student-athletes Attending practices, team meetings, games and other team functions, as requested and permitted by NCAA rules and policies; Coordinating responsibilities with graduate assistants, undergraduate students and other football staff members, as requested and assigned; Presenting/speaking to large audiences at team meetings, recruiting functions, etc. as permitted by NCAA rules and policies governing non-coaching staff members; Perform or manage other tasks or special projects as assigned by the Director of Football Operations; Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, Head Football Coach, or their designee.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Minimum of 2 years of experience working with student-athletes at an NCAA Intercollegiate Athletics program or high school football programs; Solid technical football knowledge, particularly as it relates to Offensive Football; Demonstrated analytical ability, problem-solving skills and solutions focused approach; Knowledge of self-scouting and opponent scouting; Computer and video system literacy and expertise, including XOS Software and the Microsoft Office Suite; Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines and work effectively with frequent interruptions; Must possess a strong sense of initiative and independent judgment, and a willingness to be flexible in managing changing priorities; Ability to work well both independently and in collaboration with staff as a team member.

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office environment and outside at football-related events, including inclement weather. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and various digital devices, including, but not limited to: cell phone, printer, copy machine, and other related devices. This job requires flexibility and adaptability in schedule and the ability to perform job related duties on short notice.

This position may require frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds; standing up to eight hours each day; and working in all weather conditions.

Travel

Moderate travel is expected for this position.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work will vary based on the needs of the football program and as job duties demand. Early morning, evening and weekend work is required.
