MedStar Health is looking for a Echocardiograph Technologist t o join our team , supporting patient care between our four Balti more Hospital locations . This position will travel between multiple cardiology sites, as needed. The ideal candidate will be a registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with demonst rate d effective communication and problem-solving skills.
As an Echocardiograph Technologist, you will perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds on patients to assure high-quality care and service to patients.

Primary Duties:
  • Actively participates in quality assurance program by completing all accrediting body requirements to maintain lab certification. Ensures equipment and supplies are available by coordinating preventive maintenance programs, scheduling emergency service calls, and ordering necessary supplies to maintain an efficient patient schedule.
  • Assists in coordinating patient care with clinical staff by reviewing the patient schedule at the beginning of each day to ensure appropriate support is available at the appointed times. Maintains log of patient data and stored images by entering correct patient demographic information and archiving studies to ensure complete and accurate records are maintained . Sends diagnostic reports or study copies when required to ensure timely communication of patient data .
  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound studies on patients including M-mode and two-dimensional and stress echocardiograms by following ICAEL guidelines to ensure high-quality diagnostic studies are performed. Prepares preliminary diagnostic reports by compiling relevant measurements and data to provide a summary report for physician review, interpretation, and signature.
  • Provides patient instructions and answers questions relating to scheduled procedures to properly educate and orient patients. Recognizes and alerts physicians to abnormal studies by immediately contacting physicians to discuss and assist with appropriate next steps.
Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED with completion of a Registered Echocardiology program with coursework in Anatomy and Physiology, required
  • Associate's Degree , preferred
  • 1-2 years of post-graduate cardiology experience, preferred
  • Prior clinical experience and the performance of at least 100 echocardiogram/ doppler examinations with Arrhythmia analysis experience, required
  • RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) Adult Echocardiography - ARDMS-AE or CCI
  • CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 -\r$59.26
