Position Summary:
We seek an energetic and enthusiastic individual who supports the objectives of the 5-year grant. To promote student acclimation and success at ASU.
Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities)

•Identification and recruitment of potential participants

•Executing Grant project plan

•Data collection

•Enhance student study skills/success strategy development

•Oversees student activities

Provides:

•Academic Counseling

•Academic review and guidance

•Career Counseling

•Financial Aid guidance

•Oversight & training of peer tutors and tutoring center

Details of Responsibilities:

•Holds one on meetings with students every two weeks helping them with academic advising,grade checks, and internships, etc.

•Connects students with departments on campus and creates a web of resources for their needs

•Sends out reminders for the one-on-one student meetings the morning of students' meeting

•Works with the ASU Event Coordinator on reserving areas for SSS events

•Uses the Workday system to complete purchase orders and official functions forms for SSS events and summer scholars events

•Helps to hire RAs and an RD For summer bridge program

•Utilizes spreadsheets for contact lists, class requirements and other information

•Holds recruiting tables, make soft calls for recruiting, and email potential applicants

•Travels for graduate school tour trip and summer scholars trips and training as needed

•Other duties as as assigned to accomplish objectives of the grant

Student Support Services is a Federal TRIO Program funded by the U.S. Department of Education whose mission is to advance and defend the ideal of equal educational opportunity by helping disadvantaged students overcome economic, social, academic, and cultural barriers to higher education.

Our goal is to provide students with opportunities for academic development, assistance with basic college requirements, and to motivate students toward the successful completion of their college education. Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred)

•Formal training/experience in postsecondary educational standards/policies that impact student success

•Training in data management

•2 years of experience coordinating student success strategy programming and advising

•2 years of experience coordinating/collaborating with other programs departments across campus

•2 years of experience with college level advising or equivalent

•Demonstrated sensitivity and experience working with students and/or individuals from diverse social, economic, ethnic/cultural backgrounds and students underrepresented in higher education

•Background similar to target students (low-income, first-generation, and/or disability), including bilingual (Spanish/English) skills

•Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegially with employees, students, and the community. This includes the ability to use appropriate conflict management skills to effectively manage any disagreement that might arise or to bring the disagreement to management for assistance in productive resolution when the situation requires.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for the position is $42,252 - $48,060 commensurate with experience and education.
