Are you a culinary visionary with a passion for authentic Japanese, Latin American, Indian, and American cuisine? Creative Dining Services is seeking an Executive Chef to lead our dining services team in Southfield, MI beginning late Summer 2024. This role offers a Monday - Friday schedule with mostly daytime hours, though there is limited potential for night and weekend catering. You'll work 45-50 hours per week, overseeing breakfast and lunch services for the employee caf and supervising multiple micro-markets.

Core Responsibilities of the Executive Chef:

• Management: This is a top-of-account position, responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, time keeping, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions for kitchen staff.
• Culinary Supervision: Oversee and coordinate culinary activities across all operations.
• Inventory Control: Make food purchases and manage inventory in a fiscally responsible manner.
• Quality Standards: Standardize production of menus and recipes to ensure consistent quality; communicate changes with the Creative Dining Services Home Office as necessary.
• Mentorship: Spend 35% of your time cooking and mentoring staff daily.
• Client Management: Establish and maintain food quality standards; exceed client expectations.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Culinary Arts Degree with at least five years of cooking experience required. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of cooking experience.
• At least five years of management experience
• ServSafe certification
• Director/top-of-account experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office Programs
• Experience performing administrative duties
• Proven track record in culinary excellence
• Strong client management skills
• Team-oriented leadership style
• Creativity and innovation in culinary practices
