Sisecam, a dynamic and rapidly growing organization, is seeking a Plant Accounting Manager for a contract assignment its Wyoming location, to provide leadership, accounting, and financial support for the facility. This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished accounting manager who thrives on actively engaging with operations and implementing a hands-on approach to enhance and optimize processes within a high-performing environment that strives for excellence. This includes understanding and managing the general ledger, resolving accounting issues, production costing, internal financial reporting, detailed analysis and presentation of financial data. In addition, the role entails responsibilities such as preparing, recording, and reviewing journal entries, conducting monthly account reconciliations, and addressing any ad hoc requests. The incumbent will also play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting through their preparation and review. To excel in this position, the ideal candidate must possess extensive accounting experience, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, exhibit strong analytical abilities, and showcase effective leadership and managerial skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take ownership of the Plant general ledger and ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency with Company policies, US GAAP and IFRS.
Manage all Plant accounting policies and procedures to be compliant with internal controls over financial reporting.
Oversee and manage full cycle accounting at the Plant.
Perform month, quarter, and year-end close processes within designated deadlines. Record journal entries and provide appropriate detail level review and analysis. Develop and maintain progress status tools and accounting/month-end close checklists. Ensure appropriate reporting is correct and accurate.
Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations as assigned. Track and ensure completion of reconciliations.
Perform monthly analysis of financial variances, with a primary focus on researching, documenting, and communicating fluctuations in production costs.
Take primary ownership of inventory cost accounting. Analyze all cost accounting procedures and internal reports.
Assist in the development and analysis of forecast and budget components as needed.
Support the development and implementation of internal controls for plant-level accounting and financial reporting.
Fulfill leadership responsibilities, including talent optimization and employee engagement, utilizing the Company’s development tools, such as Commitments & Results, performance reviews, development plans, and succession planning.
Business partner with plant management leadership to execute Plant strategic initiatives, including providing recommendations and leading initiatives to improve Plant operations and profitability.
This is an on-site, contract opportunity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. CPA, CMA, or graduate accounting/business degree is required.
Previous experience with performing full cycle accounting.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with manufacturing experience preferred.
