Marathon Staffing is hiring! It is a great day to start a new job! We have Chemical Operator positions in the Orangeburg area! ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ? Move and position equipment such as tankers or chassis from the parking pad into the Loading Bay. ? Unload tankers or related shipping containers to a designated storage vessel by means of dedicated piping. ? Load tankers or related shipping containers to desired levels with specified products. ? Observe safety precautions to prevent incidents/accidents. ? Monitor gauges, recording instruments, flow meters, or products to ensure that specified conditions are met.? Measure, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients, according to specifications. ? Inspect equipment to detect leaks and malfunctions, shutting the equipment down if necessary. ? Patrol work areas to detect leaks and equipment malfunctions, and to monitor operating conditions. ? Test product samples for specific gravity, chemical characteristics, pH levels, and concentrations or viscosities, or send them to laboratories for testing. ? Draw samples of products at specified stages so that analyses can be performed. ? Record operational data such as temperatures, pressures, raw materials used, processing times, or test results on proper documentation logs or check sheets. ? Housekeeping and cleaning of the production facility ? Forklift operations QUALIFICATIONS Technical ? Prior chemical plant experience preferred ? Must have or acquire a working knowledge of facility operations. ? Must have a thorough knowledge of work hazards, safety procedures, and plant safety matters. ? Must be able to work as part of a self-focused team. Physical Capabilities ? Physical strength and ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor for extended periods under uncomfortable conditions and in all types of weather, as necessary. ? Ability to work in hot environments. ? Ability to work in outside environments (rain, cold, wind). ? Stand for long periods ? Stand on hard surfaces: including concrete, tile, metal grating ? Walking distances ? Reaching with hands and arms ? Using crowbars and tools to loosen and remove chemicals from inside tanks ? Use hand/eye coordination for detailed work ?
