This position requires teaching undergraduate-level lecture and laboratory coursework in a "hands-on" academic environment.
This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis.
This posting is used for face to face and/or online instruction. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For courses that are taught 100% online, the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment.

Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing Required Education: 1. Master's degree in field or closely related area or a Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in field which may include Design, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or related discipline.
2. Any Master's or higher-level degree plus a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in field and five years relevant industry experience directly related to course(s) taught.
3. A Bachelor's degree in field and seven years of relevant industry experience directly related to the course(s) taught.
4. An Associate's degree in field and any bachelor's degree plus seven years of relevant industry experience directly related to course(s) taught. Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Preparing and delivering courses utilizing effective methods that ensure all course outcomes are met, and delivering courses in a classroom format.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to: keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
