Registered Nurse (RN) - LTAC

An LTAC RN (Long-Term Acute Care registered nurse) is a healthcare professional who provides nursing care and support to patients who require extended hospitalization due to complex medical conditions. The main focus of the job is to monitor patients, administer medications and treatments, and ensure they receive the best possible care during their hospital stay. Some of the responsibilities of an LTAC RN include:
Assessing the patient's health status and creating a care plan that meets their individual needs.
Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
Monitoring the patient's vital signs and medical condition, including heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and fluid levels.
Performing diagnostic tests and interpreting results to help diagnose and treat the patient's condition.
Providing education and support to the patient and their family regarding their medical condition and treatment plan.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to ensure the patient receives comprehensive care.
Keeping detailed records of the patient's medical history and progress.
Responding to emergency situations and performing life-saving procedures, if necessary.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a current nursing license and experience working in an acute care or critical care setting. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of focus in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also important in order to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
