Position Details:

  • 4 day - 10hr shifts, Monday - Thursday, 5:30am – 4:15pm

What You Will Do:

  • Perform “First Piece” inspection throughout assigned Product Group Line / Value Stream.

  • Perform “Final” inspection throughout assigned Product Group Line / Value Stream.

  • Assist Product Group Line / Value Stream in quality problem resolution.  

  • Perform in-process audits throughout Product Group Line / Value Stream.

  • Document all inspection and testing results.

  • Maintain all document files and test records in accurate manner.

  • Initiate non-conformance report and assist in corrective/preventive action report determination.

  • Perform 100% inspection/sorting as required.

  • Assist with writing and updating of inspection procedures and checklists.

  • Support actively all H-F Continuous Improvement efforts.

  • Verify with Gage Calibration that all inspection standards/gages are calibrated and kept up to date.

  • Observe plant safety rules and report any unsafe conditions.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Good computer skills.

  • Knowledge of blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Must know how to use and read Calipers, Depth Micrometers, Tenth Micrometers, Micrometers, Rulers, Spring Calipers and Telescope Gages.

  • Must understand fractions/decimals.

  • Good English written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Commitment to work overtime as needed.

  • Maintain appropriate levels of daily attendance, initiative, and productivity.

Physical Demands:   

  • The employee is regularly required to stand for a full shift.

  • Lift and / or move up to 20 lbs repeatedly. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Color contrast eye examinations are required to be completed at the employer’s discretion or due to requirement to ensure team members maintain optimal visual acuity, which is crucial for accurate performance of the responsibilities of this position.

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to pick, feel, and/or inspect material. The employee will also reach with arms and hands as needed.

  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
